Cayin CS-L2C
Lightning to USB-C OTG Cable
This is not a standard Lightning cable. Instead of charging your iPhone or iPad, it unlocks easy compatibility with select DACs such as the Cayin RU6, Questyle M12 Mobile, Qudelix 5K, and more for high-resolution listening.
If you've ever tried to use a regular USB-C to Lightning cable with your DAC, you probably noticed it didn't work; no data was transmitted.
That's a function of how USB was designed. In the USB communication protocol, one side is designated as the host, and the other is the device. Data travels only in one direction, from the host to the device. Standard Lightning cables are designed for a computer to be the host, sending data to the device, in this case an iPhone or iPad.
For full audio transmission, we need the reverse to be true, where the iOS device acts as the host and sends audio data to the DAC device. For an iPhone or iPad to act as a host, the USB cable requires OTG (on the go) functionality to be activated with special electronics in the cable.
For years, this required Apple's Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. But this adapter isn't the smallest, and has a USB-A connector instead of the newer USB-C.
Cayin's CS-L2C OTG cable is the solution in a more compact format, allowing you to connect straight from your iPhone or iPad into a DAC with USB-C input. It’s perfect for high-resolution music listening with your iOS device on the go.
