FT1 PRO
Open-Back Planar Magnetic Headphones

FT1 is FiiO's lightweight headphone series, focusing on comfort and accessibility. The first model in the lineup, the FT1 closed-back headphone, delivered lively sound with its dynamic driver. Now, the lineup progresses with the FT1 Pro, an open-back model with a planar magnetic driver.
FT1 Pro is equipped with FiiO's second generation, self-developed planar driver technology. This driver has been designed from the ground-up to ensure class-leading sound quality at this price point. Enjoy high-resolution sound, with an expansive soundstage.
Purchases from Bay Bloor Radio include a 1-Year Warranty from FiiO Canada, with local repair/replacement without the need for international shipping.

Planar driver technology
The FT1 Pro's planar magnetic driver has been designed from the ground up by FiiO — diaphragm, patented dual-coating, conductive trace width, fine-tuning of the magnetic circuit, and even the standardized bracket fixings — all to ensure class-leading sound at this price point. Compared to typical off-the-shelf drivers, the self-developed driver was completely customized to fit around a sophisticated acoustic system within each earcup, allowing it to be both lightweight and capable of great sound quality. While the headphone only weighs only 374g, FT1 Pro packs a capable 95x86mm driver that effortlessly produces sound up to 40kHz.
1μm thin diaphragm
Engineers have constantly strived to achieve thinner and lighter diaphragms for planar drivers. After two years of independent research and development, FiiO has created a class-leading 1μm (micrometre — a millionth of a metre) ultra-thin diaphragm, using high-performance PET as the substrate. The difference between even a 2μm and a 1μm diaphragm thickness results in noticeable performance differences when the diaphragm is vibrating at high speeds, which ultimately affects sound quality. The FT1 Pro’s 1μm ultra-thin diaphragm is exceptionally lightweight, allowing it to respond with lightning-quick speed. It faithfully reproduces even subtle sounds in the ultra-high frequency range, as well as providing exceptional dynamic range.
Sapphire + Aluminum dual-coating
FT1 Pro employs a patented dual-coating system. The planar driver uses high-performance PET as the diaphragm substrate and selectively applies sapphire and aluminium to create a dual-coated driver. Such a design enhances the driver’s frequency response across different frequency ranges, improves audio resolution, and allows listeners to fully appreciate the nuanced and unique sound quality of planar drivers. The first coating layer is made of aluminium. Lightweight and conducive, the aluminium coating enhances the traces’ conductivity, helping to reduce the driver’s impedance and power requirements as well as improve its dynamics. The second coating layer is made of sapphire. With its high hardness, the sapphire coating contributes to the diaphragm’s rigidity and enhances treble resolution and overall transparency.
Uniform magnetic field
The FT1 Pro is equipped with FiiO's new uniform magnetic field acoustic technology, which optimizes the uneven magnetic field intensity caused by adjacent magnets and further expands the magnetic field range. This technology makes the FT1 Pro’s magnetic field more precise and balanced, allowing the planar driver diaphragm in that magnetic field to be more evenly stressed. The FT1 Pro planar driver diaphragm moves more evenly with reduced breakup and distortion, leading to a more refined sound that accurately captures even the subtlest of nuances in the music.
28nm-grade process
In order to create the intricate self-developed planar driver, it needs to be manufactured with precision at the nanometre level. Traditional diaphragm coating processes are not precise enough. FT1 Pro's driver is made using a 28nm-grade process. This technique, inspired by coating technology used within the semiconductor industry, completely isolates the conductive trace material from the surrounding air. The trace material exists in a vacuum state at a pressure of 6.6 × 10⁻³ pascals, and the temperature is raised to 120°C. The trace material is transformed into ionized particles, which then accumulate on an ultra-thin 1 μm film through charge attraction principles. This process creates the desired coating thickness for optimal acoustics and significantly enhances the durability and lifespan of the traces.
Closed-back design
The FT1 Pro features metal grid earcup covers, allowing sound waves to travel out through the open mesh. This has the effect of reducing unwanted resonances and makes it suitable for at-home listening or use in quieter private environments. The headband design automatically floats on your head for more enjoyable listening sessions without the need for adjustments.
Impedance and sensitivity
Naturally, while not as easy to drive as the FT1 closed dynamic driver model, the lightweight FT1 Pro aims to bring great sound without requiring the most powerful amplification that some other planar magnetic headphones require. Its low 20Ω impedance combined with the relatively high sensitivity of 95dB/mW@1kHz means you can get great sound from the FT1 Pro with a more accessible headphone amplifier like the FiiO K11.
Adaptive 3-axis headband
FT1 Pro has inherited the excellent ergonomic design of the rest of the FiiO FT series. The adaptive 3-axis headband allows free rotation at different angles. This design adapts to different head sizes and ensures a snug fit on the head for improved comfort and minimised sound loss.
Lightweight headband
To make the FT1 Pro headband lighter, it is equipped with high-quality steel rails that significantly increase durability. You will feel the precision and sophistication of the mechanical construction every time you adjust the headband. In addition, compared to similar products, the FT1 Pro offers an extended adjustment range from 0 to 11 clicks to adapt to different head sizes. The part of the headband that comes into contact with the head is made of lychee leather for a soft and comfortable feel.
Breathable fabric ear pads
Experience comfortable long listening sessions. The FT1 Pro is equipped with breathable fabric ear pads, which are made of a textile material that comes into contact with your skin. The high-density, breathable mesh design efficiently dissipates the heat that builds up between the ear pads and your ears. The side of the ear pads is made of protein leather, which not only looks good, but feels good too.
Two cables included
FT1 Pro comes with two headphone cables — one with 3.5 mm termination (single-ended) and the other with 4.4 mm termination (balanced). Both cables consist of an oxygen-free, copper-coated silver wire base with 392 wires, have a thickness of 24AWG and are 1.5 metres long. This makes the FT1 Pro compatible with many audio devices as you can easily switch between cables. On the headphone side, the inputs are two 3.5mm TRS headphone jacks, a universal standard allowing you to easily switch and upgrade to a different headphone cable in the future.
Includes headphone storage case
The FT1 Pro comes with a high-quality softshell headphone storage case, designed for lightweight protection and transport.
