K13 R2R
Desktop Resistor-to-Resistor DAC and Headphone Amplifier
The FiiO K13 R2R is desktop-class USB DAC and headphone amplifier. Instead of a typical delta-sigma DAC chip, it uses a custom-designed resistor-to-resistor ladder DAC. This network of precision resistors converts digital signals into an analog output, for a warmer, rounder, and more analog sound than typical modern chip-based DACs.
Equipped with USB-C, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth digital inputs; XLR and dual RCA analog line level outputs; and two headphone jacks (1/4" single-ended and 4.4mm balanced), the K13 R2R acts as a bridge between your computer and phone to your headphones and speakers, allowing them to work together seamlessly with upgraded sound.
Switchable low, medium, and high gain levels are available, enabling you to use the more powerful built-in amplifier at comfortable volume levels with most headphones.

Fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC array
An R2R ladder DAC employs a series of resistors with precise values arranged in a ladder configuration. Each step of the ladder corresponds to a bit in the digital signal, and the combination of these resistors translates the digital input into a corresponding analog voltage.
FiiO has equipped the K13 R2R with a properietary fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor array with four channels. It consists of 48 resistors per channel, totalling 192 high-precision, ultra-thin film resistors with an accuracy of 0.1% and low temperature drift between the four channels.
Thanks to the specially designed audio circuit architecture, it promises an organic, clean, and smooth output with a dark background. For those who crave a less "digital" sound, R2R can be a great option with its uniquely rich and musical output.
Fully balanced design
The entire audio chain — including the R2R DAC, LPF, volume control, and headphone amp — uses fully differential signal processing for excellent interference rejection, minimal distortion, and high dynamic range. The amplification circuit also features gain control, headphone protection mechanisms, and POP noise elimination for a robust and reliable audio experience.
NOS/OS dual operating modes
K13 R2R has two operating modes which offer different sound characteristics.
- NOS (Non-Oversampling) Mode: Maintains the original sampling rate for decoding, preserving authentic sound and allowing you to enjoy an organic and captivating musical experience.
- OS (Oversampling) Mode: Upsamples globally to a high sampling rate of 384kHz, for superior audio performance and even more refined, clear sound.
Inputs and outputs
With a wide variety of inputs and outputs, the FiiO K13 R2R can cater to diverse audio setups.
It features digital inputs via USB-C, coaxial, optical Toslink, and Bluetooth. The USB connection doesn't draw power from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
On the output side, there's 6.35mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced jacks to drive your headphones. Both are located on the front of the K13 R2R for convenient ergonomics. On the rear, you'll find two RCA line outputs and a balanced XLR output for interfacing with a variety of active speakers and external amplifiers.
Bluetooth Input
With support for Bluetooth 5.4 and compatibility with LDAC/AAC/SBC codecs, the K13 R2R allows you to be immersed in a world of high-quality music even when listening wirelessly.
Headphone amplifier
Almost double the power of the K11 R2R! Boasting a balanced output power of 2400mW+2400mW into a 32Ω load, the K13 R2R can effortlessly drive both high-fidelity IEMs and headphones, unlocking their full potential and allowing them to render every last detail.
Three different gain levels mean the K13 R2R is able to adapt to various kinds of IEMs and headphones for better listening experiences. Moreover, the volumes of PO and PRE out modes can be set and recalled independently.
Parametric equalizer
The K13 R2R, with the help of the XMOS XU316 platform, features specially-developed parametric EQ with support for 10 frequency band adjustments across all operating modes. With FiiO's proprietary tuning algorithm, accessible through their app or web interface, you can easily utilize preset tunings or even simulate and correct headphone frequency response curves. It also supports exporting, importing, sharing, and saving EQ curves, and auto-EQ, making sound tuning effortless. *PEQ can be used to adjust audio signals up to PCM 192kHZ/24bit sampling rate. The web version of the PEQ (fiiocontrol.fiio.com) is supported only under USB input with EQ setting to non-off state; when using other modes, the PEQ can be adjusted through the FiiO Control app.
Power supply
No more external power brick! The built-in 30W switching power supply is protected by an alloy nickel-plated shielding cover, which significantly boosts its anti-interference capabilities and ensures a cleaner power supply.
Additionally, K13 R2R also features an external DC power input, allowing you to pair it with a higher-performance linear power supply for an upgraded sound experience should it be desired in the future. *Supported external DC power supply specifications are 12V-2.5A (or greater than 2.5A) with a 5.5*2.1mm connector.
Upgraded internals
With up to 18 low-noise LDOs and 5 DC-DC converters in total, this unit employs a multi-rail power supply to provide strong and clean power for exceptional audio output. Premium ELNA RA3 series silk-film audio capacitors and specialized audio tantalum electrolytic capacitors work together to ensure a pure, stable power supply for the device, delivering a warm and natural sound.
Slim and stable enclosure
The larger and thickened unibody aluminum alloy casing, paired with a brand-new “skylight” design, not only continues the K11 series' minimalist design language but also introduces a literal window into the R2R resistor series technology. The flowing light and vibrant colours showcase a unique tech aesthetic.
High-contrast display
A custom, high-contrast, long-lasting HD LCD display clearly shows the device’s current status at a glance, including sampling rate, volume, gain, and output mode. LCD technology is not susceptible to burn-in, allowing a longer-lasting device.
Adjustable RGB lighting
K13 R2R features lighting in its knobs and through the skylight top. Not only does the RGB lighting indicate the current audio sampling rate, but you can also customize the brightness, colors, and whether it pulses or not.
Control and remote
The K13 R2R features dual knob control for simple onboard adjustments. An infrared remote control is also included for convenient changes away from the unit itself. The FiiO Control app for smartphones can also be used for remote control over Bluetooth. A shutdown timer (1-99 minutes) is also available through the interface.
