K15
Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier
The K15 is the more accessible version of FiiO's new style of desktop DAC and headphone amplifier, designed to offer a high-fidelity sound experience. It presents a symphony of retro elegance and powerful technology, featuring a stylish design and rich functionality, all wrapped in a powerful package. K15 streamlines the essential elements of the acclaimed K17, making high-end desktop performance more affordable.
K15 is engineered to elevate your audio experience no matter what audio source you're using with your headphones and speakers. Inputs are comprehensive, including USB-C, digital optical and coaxial, analog RCA and XLR, Bluetooth, and for the first time, streaming input via AirPlay and Roon Ready.
On the output side, there's RCA and 3-pin XLR balanced analog line level outputs, and three headphone jacks (1/4" single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and 4-pin XLR balanced). Five switchable gain levels are available, enabling you to use the built-in amplifier at comfortable volume levels with your entire collection of headphones and earphones.

Dual AKM DACs
FiiO K15 is among the first to use two of the new high-end AKM DAC chips, the AK4479SVQ featuring upgraded 'Velvet Sound' audio technology. The chips achieve low distortion, a wide dynamic range, and extended signal bandwidth, all at low power consumption. Rich detail is retained in both low and high frequencies for a natural and immersive sound experience.
Class AB Amplification
Within the K15 is a carefully designed discrete headphone amplifier circuit, featuring an OP + transistor current-boosting design. A complementary pair of the classic ON Semiconductor MJE243G/253G delivers high current and low impedance output. This discrete circuit can achieve balanced output power up to 3000mW + 3000mW, allowing the K15 to effortlessly drive both full-sized headphones and in-ear monitors, producing smooth, natural, and melodious sound.
Fully balanced design
From DAC decoding, low-pass filtering, and gain control to headphone amplification, the K15's audio circuit is a fully differential design. Such a design ensures wide dynamic range while also effectively reducing crosstalk, minimizing noise, and enhancing the quality of sound.
Low jitter clock
Inside the K15 are dual ACCUSILICON ultra-low phase noise AS318-L crystal oscillators (45.1584MHz, 49.1520MHz) that effectively reduces phase noise interference in audio signals. This ensures precise reproduction of audio signals at various sampling rates, for purer and more stable sound.
Premium-grade components
- 8 ruby film capacitors + 32 wafer resistors: low temperature drift and low noise to ensure stable high-quality sound in various room temperature conditions.
- High-quality Beryl solid capacitors: minimizing interference for a stable and pure power supply.
- Internal cabling: audio signals transmitted between different internal boards are high-quality with minimal loss via the use of silver-plated oxygen-free copper wires.
Inputs and outputs
With comprehensive inputs and outputs, the FiiO K15 can cater to more audio setups.
It features eight input modes:
- USB decoding: the XMOS 16-core XU316 enables decoding up to 768kHz/32bit, DSD512, and MQA full decoding. There is a USB-C port on both the front and rear of K15 for convenient access; the front port takes priority when both are connected.
- Streaming media receiver: connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet and enjoy streaming media through Roon Ready or AirPlay.
- Bluetooth input: the Qualcomm QCC5125 enables support for aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, and more codecs.
- Optical input: capable of receiving digital optical input, for use as an optical decoder.
- Coaxial input: capable of receiving digital coaxial input, for use as an coaxial decoder.
- RCA input: receive a single-ended analog signal to be amplified by the K15, ideal for use with a turntable and phono preamplifier.
- XLR input: receive a balanced analog signal to be amplified by the K15.
- Local playback: supports external USB flash drives and portable hard drives that store your private music collection. The maximum output current of the USB-A port is 500mA, which is suitable for connecting to a USB flash drive; if you need to connect to a mobile hard disk drive, please use an extra power supply to power it.
On the output side, there's 6.35mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and 4-pin XLR balanced jacks to drive all of your headphones. All are located on the front of the K15 for convenient ergonomics. On the rear, you'll find both 3-pin XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced line outputs for interfacing with a variety of active speakers and external amplifiers.
Switch between four output modes: PO+Pre Out to use both headphones and rear audio out simultaneously, PO for headphone output via the front panel 6.3mm, 4.4mmm and XLR ports, PRE for pre-out with adjustable volume via the rear connectors, and LO for line out with fixed volume via the rear connectors.
Streaming via Roon Ready and AirPlay
The Ethernet port supports up to Gigabit speeds for fast and stable data transmission. The AP6256 Wi-Fi module supports 2.4G and 5G wireless networks as an alternative method of transmitting lossless audio.
Bluetooth connectivity
With the QCC5125 Bluetooth chip, the K15 supports LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and other enhanced Bluetooth codecs. This ensures high-quality, lower-latency Bluetooth audio for various applications.
Remote
A custom infrared remote control is included with K15, allowing you to conveniently switch between operating modes, select EQ, adjust volume, and operate other functions from a distance.
Retro-Inspired Modern Design
The industrial design of K15 cleverly blends square and round shapes into a harmonious whole, combining retro hi-fi elegance with a modern technological aura. There is thoughtful consideration in both functionality and design; examples include the multiple knobs for easier instant control, and a grid structure for faster heat dissipation.
Touchscreen
With its larger colour screen than similar products, the display is clear and easy to read. Interacting with the device directly is intuitive, so that it is quick and easy to handle various operations right out of the box.
Physically separated boards
The various sections of the internal power supply, digital, and analogue sections are all located on physically separated circuit boards to avoid interference between them. This ensures the accuracy and integrity of signal processing for purer, cleaner audio output.
Precision power supply
The K15 features a built-in next-generation 30W (12V-2.5A) low-noise, high-efficiency, long-lasting, industrial and instrumentation-grade power supply. The K15 also supports external DC power supplies, allowing it to work with higher-performance linear power supplie..
Separate power supplies for the digital and analogue circuits effectively avoid crosstalk and interference between them. The K15’s analogue audio circuit is powered by a multi-stage power supply to continuously provide stable and clean power.
