M33 R2R
Portable High-Res Lossless Music Player
The M33 R2R takes FiiO's proprietary resistor array DAC originally designed for desktop equipment, and brings it to a portable player for the first time. It has been designed on both the inside and out to provide class-leading performance and listening enjoyment.
Shaped by the ears of expert acoustic engineers and perfected through feedback from the global audiophile community, it delivers a unique listening experience: the unmistakable, lush analog warmth traditionally associated with R2R, combined with balanced, high-fidelity performance.
Purchases from Bay Bloor Radio include a 1-Year Warranty from FiiO Canada, with local repair/replacement without the need for international shipping.
R2R DAC array
M33 R2R uses a custom-designed resistor-to-resistor ladder DAC. This network of precision resistors converts digital signals into an analog output, for a warmer, rounder, and more analog sound than typical modern chip-based delta-sigma DACs.
FiiO has equipped the K13 R2R with a proprietary fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor array with four channels. It consists of 48 resistors per channel, totalling 192 high-precision, ultra-thin film resistors with an accuracy of 0.1% and low temperature drift between the four channels.
Thanks to the specially designed audio circuit architecture, it promises an organic, clean, and smooth output with a dark background. For those who crave a less "digital" sound, R2R can be a great option with its uniquely rich and musical output. Two selectable sound profiles — FLAT and WARM — allow for the listener to refine the sound signature to fit their tastes.
Powerful headphone amp
The pre-amp stage utilizes TI fully differential op-amps for I/V conversion and signal conditioning, delivering a natural and expansive soundstage. The output stage features quad INA1620 amp chips in a parallel configuration. Thanks to these chips, the result is output power up to 1100mW+1100mW to effortlessly drive almost any headphone on the go. Finally, the precision electronic volume control ensures that you experience explosive dynamics without losing a hint of detail.
Patented desktop + over-ear mode
When Desktop Mode is enabled, the M33 R2R is completely powered by an external power supply. The built-in battery is neither charged nor discharged, allowing you to use the player safely on the desktop without degrading its battery, extending its lifespan.
M33 R2R is equipped with four gain levels: Low, Medium, High, and Over-Ear Headphone. Connect a fast charger to either Type-C port to activate Over-Ear Headphone mode, unlocking even more power. With an output of up to 1100mW+1100mW per channel, it drives even demanding over-ear headphones.

Two-way Bluetooth
Send music to M33 R2R wirelessly, or connect your wireless headphones. This player features SBC/aptX/aptX HD/LHDC/LDAC transmission, while Bluetooth reception supports SBC/LDAC.
USB DAC
A dedicated XMOS XU316 chip provides ultra-low latency and robust performance, ensuring flawlessly synchronized audio that stays consistent across all your devices. It supports 768kHz-32bit, DSD512.
Smooth performer, flexible storage
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 allows you to experience effortless streaming and seamless multitasking on Android 13. An expansive 8GB RAM + 128GB built-in storage (about 112GB usable after operating system space) is featured in the M33 R2R, making it unmatched in its class. Get more storage space via the microSD card slot, allowing for storage expansion up to 2TB.
Five operating modes
The M33 R2R has 5 independent working modes:
- Android mode: just like a smartphone, but without the phone. The Android homescreen is available and third party apps may be launched after being installed through the Google Play store or third-party marketplaces.
- Pure Music mode: the player starts directly in FiiO Music as a pure music player for fast, direct, and stable operation without access to the Android homescreen.
- USB DAC mode: connect your USB audio device and enjoy the M33's R2R digital-to-analog conversion.
- Bluetooth Receiving mode: Stream music to the M33 R2R wirelessly, allowing you to access its superior headphone amplification to listen to music from external sources.
- AirPlay mode: Similar to Bluetooth, switch to this mode to stream music from iOS devices on the same network via the AirPlay protocol.
Auto EQ
If you find the 10-band parametric equalizer difficult to use, AUTO EQ automatically matches your headphone’s frequency curve, delivering a new sound profile instantly precision. In addition to sound presets such as pop, jazz and classical, the app also supports granular, per-band customization – allowing you to personally tune your own sound.
Battery and charging
Featuring a premium 4400mAh high-capacity battery, both single-ended and balanced playback times are significantly improved over the M23. Low-temperature fast charging means the M33 R2R powers up quickly without overheating. Between the long-lasting battery and rapid charging, your music never has to stop — up to 15.5 hours in ideal conditions.

Precision power supply system
There are independent power supplies for digital and analog stages. The analog stage utilizes three separate power circuits for the R2R array, pre-amp, and amp stages, ensuring a more refined and natural sound signature. The amp power supply supports two voltage tiers. Activating "over-ear headphone mode" triggers the high-voltage rail, boosting output power to 1100mW+1100mW, allowing the player to drive devices from sensitive IEMs to demanding over-ear headphones.
Digital and analog, separated
To ensure the cleanest audio possible, the digital audio processing, R2R array, amp, and power modules are housed in separate zones with independent shielding. This significantly reduces signal interference and crosstalk, resulting in a "blacker", ultra-silent background with a clearer soundstage where every musical detail shines through.
