Portable DAC and Headphone Amplifier
The QX13 is the first entry into FiiO's new series of portable DAC and headphone amplifiers, incorporating over a decade of technological expertise.
The QX Series sits above the popular KA Series, integrating the amplification prowess of the battery-powered Q Series while maintaining a compact battery-free design.
Thanks to a magnetic attachment feature and optional ESTICK battery pack compatibility, QX13 combines modularity, convenience, and high-performance specifications.

Pushing material boundaries
Pushing the boundaries of what can be done in this form factor, the black version of QX13 is made with up to 21 layers of stacked carbon fiber, for a lightweight yet durable build. The carbon fiber also allows it to be resistant to interference and heat, while featuring a unique texture and a premium feel. To improve grip comfort and achieve a better visual effect, the surface of the carbon fiber version is processed with an ultra-transparent UV varnish treatment.
The titanium gold colourway of QX13 an aluminum alloy model, with a laser-engraved back panel that combines elegance with advanced design.
No matter which colour you choose, the included case protects QX13, minimizing scratches caused by friction with hard objects.
Large colour display
The QX13 features a large 1.99" colour display outfitted with third-generation Corning high-strength glass for greater durability and scratch resistance, rare among audio dongles. Multiple newly developed personalized UI themes powered by a 32-bit processor ensure that the user experience is unrivalled among dongle DACs, functional in portrait or landscape mode.
Desktop-grade DAC
Inside QX13 is a Flagship ES9027PRO DAC chip, from the ESS Sabre Pro series mainly used in high-end audio systems and professional audio gear. This chip features a fully differential audio architecture design with 8 channels set up in parallel, and is combined with a pair of ultra-low-noise ES9312 regulators for precise output matching on each audio channel. Audio signals are accurately reproduced thanks to this pair of chips' optimized power efficiency and effectiveness in reducing clock jitter.
Op-Amps
The QX13 uses four wafer-level precision-integrated Texas Instruments INA1620 chips, with a specially designed internal layout to significantly reduce crosstalk — for no interference between channels even under extreme conditions. Additionally, two low-noise, low-distortion OPA1692 chips are employed to ensure excellent dynamics under various load conditions.
Desktop mode
The QX13 features two USB Type-C ports. One is the typical port used to connect to audio source devices such as phones, tablets and computers. But the orange port on the side is designed for use with an external power supply or the FiiO ESTICK battery.
When there is sufficient USB power, activating the switch for Desktop Mode kicks things up a notch, fully unleashing the output power of the QX13. Thanks to its new configuration, optimized audio circuit, and more efficient heat dissipation, the QX13 in desktop mode can deliver power comparable to full-size headphone amplifiers while also significantly reducing power consumption. It also features a high- precision power meter, capable of accurately assessing the power supply capabilities of different USB sources and intelligently adjusting accordingly the headphone amplifier's gain and output power.
Digital and analog separation
The digital and analog boards are separated and equipped with a shielding cover for isolation, ensuring precise and dynamic signal processing. This design also effectively absorbs and dissipates heat, enabling effective thermal management and ensuring the QX13 delivers sustained high-power output.
XMOS
The QX13 has pro-grade USB Audio quality, with high performance, low latency, and support of up to 768Khz/32bit PCM and DSD512 native decoding. Dual ultra-low phase noise, low temperature drift femtosecond crystal oscillators ensure that audio of various sampling rates is correctly handled for the best sound quality. The XMOS XU316 also allows for a 10-band lossless parametric equalizer, which can be tuned either via the Android FiiO Control app or through the web, making it easy to dial in your sound.
*When PEQ is turned on, the max sampling rate supported PEQ adjustment is PCM 192kHz/24bit.
Audio architecture
The QX13 condenses audio architecture design found in fairly high-end DAC and headphone amplifiers into a small dongle. Its design achieves high-precision conversion of audio signals to the DAC thanks to dual crystal oscillators. The audio signal goes through multiple stages of analog processing-including LPF voltage amplification, BUF current boosting, and parallel-enhanced current expansion, delivering sound quality comparable to that of more costly desktop DACs and headphone amplifiers.
Magnetic convenience
The QX13 can use magnets to affix to your smartphone. The included magnetic leather case achieves perfect alignment for an iPhone with Magsafe connectivity. For Android devices, the included magnetic ring can be used to achieve the same result.
ESTICK compatibility
QX13 is compatible with the ESTICK mini power bank, allowing you to travel light and extend your source device battery while still enjoying the added power that QX13 has to offer.
