Despite their pristine clarity, digital recordings sometimes seem emotionally flat and lifeless.
Engineers at Victor Studio noticed a lack of emotion between their original masters and digital sub-masters, sparking a quest for a solution. They meticulously compared countless finished recordings with the copy recordings by ear, relying on their instinctive feel and human expertise. Their solution: K2 Technology.
The K2 Technology process revives rich, natural harmonics into digital sound, adding an organic quality unlike any other. K2 Technology processing revitalises the studio recording sound, infusing it with life once again.
The latest version of K2 Technology is known as K2HD. When mastering to match CD specifications, all data above 22kHz is cut off. This isn't even limited to CDs specifically – Spotify's entire library is compressed to 44.1kHz/16-bit. K2HD advanced processing optionally upscales a file to 192kHz/24-bit and applies their hand-selected K2 parameters for waveform correction – which processes the time-domain, not the frequency domain. The unparalleled originality of K2HD lies in its advanced high-frequency extension, enabling the restoration of natural harmonics and overtones beyond 22kHz, delivering audio quality that is close to the original master. - Bit-Perfect: Delivers natural tones, ideal for all genres.
- GTO: Enhances sound details and density, particularly suited for Vocal tracks.
- Minimum Phase: Produces a warmer sound, blending characteristics of Bit-Perfect and Standard, perfect for Soul and Jazz.
- Standard: Offers a tighter sound with controlled highs, perfect for Pop music and Movie OST.
iFi’s signature analogue processing modes, XBass+ and XSpace, can also be switched in or out of the signal path according to taste.
- XBass+: a sophisticated form of bass boost that enhances low frequencies without muddying the midrange, useful with earphones and open-back headphones that may lack deep bass
- XSpace: a sophisticated form of crossfeed, designed to compensate for the ‘in-head localisation’ effect that can occur when using headphones to listen to music that was mixed using a pair of speakers, effectively widening the headphone soundstage to deliver a more spacious and speaker-like experience.

The DAC section of the GO bar Kensei uses a powerful 16-core XMOS micro controller to process the audio data received at the USB input. Our in-house team has programmed the XMOS firmware to optimise sound quality and ensure a perfect partnership with the 32-bit Cirrus Logic DAC chipset.
A customised digital filter minimises pre-echoes and ringing artefacts. Our GMT (Global Master Timing) precision clock system ensures ultra-low jitter.

With its compact dimensions of 65 x 22 x 13.2 mm, it matches the size of a USB flash drive. This makes it the perfect travel companion for your mobile, tablet or laptop, blending into your life for headphone use.
Its USB-C connectivity ensures plug-and-play convenience, allowing for hassle-free use.
The GO Bar Kensei offers a maximum output power of up to 477mW, which is about 10 times more powerful than an Apple dongle.
It incorporates two power tuning technologies: iEMatch for high-sensitivity IEMs, and Turbo mode for power-hungry headphones. This allows it to easily drive a wide range of premium earphones and headphones.
Make a Connection.
At one end of the GO bar Kensei is an asynchronous USB-C input, at the other resides a pair of headphone outputs.One of these is a fully balanced 4.4mm output, enabling headphones equipped with a balanced cable/connector to make the most of the GO bar’s balanced audio circuitry. The other is a 3.5mm output utilising iFi’s ‘S-Balanced’ technology – this cuts noise and crosstalk by 50 per cent with regular single-ended headphone connectors. Both outputs are gold plated to maintain contact quality over time.

As iFi's top ultraportable device in the GO series, Kensei's included accessories are designed to give you everything you need.Apple users will love the bespoke Lightning to USB-C cable, engineered by iFi so you don’t need to add Apple’s Camera Adapter dongle to use the GO bar with iOS devices, as you do with other USB DACs.
Android users, meanwhile, will appreciate the USB-C OTG cable, which can also be used with USB-C-equipped PCs and Macs; a USB-C to USB-A adapter is also included, thus covering most bases straight out of the box.
There’s a leather travel case included too, with space for a cable, ensuring your GO bar Kensei is well protected wherever you choose to take it. And it all comes packaged in an exclusive engraved wooden box.
