AMP 10 is a remarkably powerful 16-channel amplifier. Pair with AV 10 for an elite, reference-level home theater system. AMP 10 is rated at 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms. AMP 10 is built on Marantz exclusive HDAM and newly developed Class D amplification.

While substantial in stature, AMP 10 is elegantly constructed with steel and aluminum casework and knobs. The subtle texture molded into the front panel is lit by the dimmable soft glow of sidelights on either side of the control surface.

Your cinema is an integral part of your home. Therefore, Marantz has provided a rich assortment of connections and configuration options to make AMP 10 your ideal amplifier. While each of the 16 channels can operate independently, channel pairs can also be switched into bi-amp mode for isolating frequency bands from each other or switched into BTL mode to produce up to 400 watts per channel into 8 ohms for your highest output demands.

Included aluminum remote, accessible front-panel controls, and an intuitive on- screen setup process make you feel like an expert user right away.

 

While AV 10 may be complex within, everyday use and setup is not complicated. An included quick start guide and on-screen setup procedure make configuration easy. An included metal backlit remote provides access to most often used features. Advanced HDMI connectivity allows you to use a TV remote for power and volume. Support for all major home automation protocols is included. AV 10 also responds to voice commands from popular agents like Hey Google, Alexa, and Siri.

Compatibility

Gold plated RCA and high-grade XLR connectors accept audio input from most surround processors. Custom Marantz SPK 1+ binding posts are ergonomic and provide the best possible coupling to loudspeaker cables. Low-distortion, high-power output provides ample drive to virtually any loudspeaker configuration to maximize performance in any room.

 

Control

Even when AMP 10 is installed away from the theater room, control and status information are available at your fingertips.

 

Using an included cable, control and status information from AMP 10 can be transmitted to AV 10 making network control and automation simple. Further, RS232 and DC trigger inputs are available to make automating AMP 10 with a home control system possible.

 

 

 

 

Marantz HDAM-SA2

Typical amplifiers use typical parts. Exceptional amplifiers like AMP 10 use bespoke technologies to achieve ultimate performance. Marantz has further optimized our legendary HDAM-SA2 circuitry for use in all signal paths. HDAM- SA2’s high slew rate and low impedance maximize clarity, resolution, and tone.

 

Custom Class D

AMP 10 renders dynamics with lifelike impact and clarity thanks to custom Class D amplification. Channel pairs synchronize switching frequencies, heavy buss bars replace typical wiring harnesses for better current delivery, and custom curated ingredients elevate innovative engineering into the realm of rare excellence.

 

Isolated Power Supplies

The high-power and small-signal portions of AMP 10 have very different power supply needs. Marantz engineered a new clean and quiet linear power supply to shield the signals from each other to prevent interference and maintain Marantz warmth and detail. The new power supply features a custom toroidal transformer for the input section and small signals. The new design provides high- power output portions of the amplifier receive massive current on demand from a switch mode power supply.

 

Bi-Amp Mode
Many high-end loudspeakers can be driven by two amplifiers at once (known as bi-amping)—one for low frequencies and one for high frequencies. AMP 10 can pair channels into bi-amp mode to maximize performance from loudspeakers that benefit from this feature.
