You won’t believe that such big sound can come from a speaker this small and lightweight. Its custom 70mm driver with neodymium magnet is driven by an upgraded 50 watts of powerful amplification, and sits within a carefully-designed acoustic enclosure.
The result is an ability to move a surprising amount of air for tight bass, clean mids, and crisp highs, creating a balanced and coherent listening experience.
The Minirig 4 has inherited much of its sound signature from the Minirig 3, but with lots of tweaks and improvements along the way to the DSP and the electronics. The changes are subtle, but all combine to produce an overall improved sonic experience.
Its little surprise that music lovers, audiophiles, DJs, and content producers — who normally enjoy high-quality home and studio listening setups — choose Minirigs to take on the go.
Minirig grew out of Bristol's thriving music scene in southwest England.
Friends David and Tom started making speakers as a hobby, in an attempt to create a portable audio system with volume and clarity that could match their high standards. As they kept experimenting and refining their designs to get the best sound out of a small enclosure, their friends noticed they were onto something — so much so, that they asked if they could buy some.
Minirig was thus born. David and Tom assembled a team of music enthusiasts with backgrounds in professional audio, underwater robotics, sonar, and industrial equipment. They came together over a shared love of music; what started as a DIY project is now the finest portable Bluetooth speaker in the world.
Built in Bristol
Today, the Minirig 4 is still designed and hand-built by this passionate team in Bristol, UK.
Its acoustic enclosure is made from anodized aluminum and impact-resistant polycarbonate, with an anti-vibration silicone isolation base to enhance performance. The durable honeycomb mesh grille protects the driver within, and is colour-matched to the speaker for a cohesive look.
A mesh-top carrying case with carabiner is included, so you can enjoy your Minirig 4 while keeping it protected during transport.

Minirig 4 lasts for:
- Up to 100 hours at lower listening volumes
- Up to 30 hours at average listening volumes
- Up to 5 hours at maximum listening volumes
Use the Minirig 4's new built-in accelerometer to check the current battery level. Just shake the speaker, and refer to the LED indicators.
USB-C Charging + Power Bank
New to the Minirig is convenient charging through the USB-C port, the standardized format also found on most modern smartphones and laptops — this way, there's no need to pack another charger. A USB-A to USB-C charging cable in included in the box, with recharge times of about 6 hours.
If you have a USB-C to USB-C cable and charger that supports USB-C PD (Power Delivery), fast charging up to 30W is also supported, allowing a full recharge in under 90 minutes.
There’s so much power on board, that you can even use the Minirig 4 as a USB-C power bank to recharge your phone.

Minirig 4 features Bluetooth connectivity; simply pair up wirelessly to your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other music source and enjoy.
You can also listen in wired mode thanks to the 3.5mm line input. This minimizes latency — bringing it down to about 2 milliseconds — making Minirig 4 the rare speaker of its kind that is also suitable for music production or performance. An AUX cable is included.
A single Minirig 4 is an excellent option for casual listening. For even better sound and more immersive listening, pair two Minirig 4 speakers together in stereo. You'll enjoy true left and right stereo imaging, separation, and soundstage that can't be achieved through all-in-one or mono speakers.
Minirig 4 can be paired in a true wireless stereo mode for convenience, now improved in Minirig 4 with greater range. Just press and hold the volume (+) button on the two speakers, and you'll be connected.
For the most robust connection, link the primary and secondary Minirigs together using an AUX cable. Press the volume (+/–) buttons together to toggle each speaker between Left, Right, and Mono playback.
Just like that, your Minirigs become a miniaturized pair of monitoring speakers that can join you on your travels.
Want to kick it up a notch further? Plug in the Minirig Sub 3 and enjoy enhanced, extended bass response for an even more powerful portable sound system.
Best of all, this also works with stereo Minirig 4s, allowing you to create a portable 2.1 system. It's all modular, so you can build your collection even further and go beyond!
Minirigs' ability to pair together has made them a festival favourite in the UK. There's no limit to how many Minirigs can be linked together — they'll all play the same music in sync, making them perfect for parties and gatherings.
Press and hold the volume (–) button to start and join a wireless LinkUp. For the most reliable connection, daisy chain Minirigs together with AUX cables; the two 3.5mm jacks on each unit can be used as both an input or an output.
Minirig 4 now has a microphone, allowing you to conveniently use it for hands-free calls over Bluetooth. When a call comes in, simply hold the volume (+) button to accept the call, or use the volume (–) button to reject it.
Minirig 4 features new buttons and LED indicators for an enhanced user experience. Now, you can finely-tune 32 steps of sound levels with the Volume (+/–) buttons, enter a dedicated pairing mode with the power button, and refer to the row of LEDs to keep track of battery and volume level.
The new but optional Minirig 4 app for iOS, Android, and Chrome browsers is redesigned to be simpler and more fun to use. Adjust settings and customize sound with bass and treble controls. It's not the fanciest, but is designed to help you spend more time listening than tinkering — set it, and forget it.
Minirig is committed to sustainability. Minirig 4 comes in fully recycled and recyclable packaging; even the stickers are made from Kraft paper.
The speakers themselves are built to last, and designed to be repairable at Minirig HQ in the UK to minimize waste and pollution.
And eventually, at end of life, special additives in the plastics enable microbes to break them down in landfill, reducing environmental impact.
