Portable Clamshell Design
DISCDREAM 2 has a clamshell design, making it transportable and reducing the potential damage that can impact discs during travel. Please note that the lid does not lock, so care should be taken when in motion.
Servo Architecture
- Motor Drive: Selected imported audio driver chips ensure stable and uniform speed.
- Optical Assembly: Uses a professional CD laser head, achieving excellent disc reading ability.
- Double Shock Absorption: The electronic buffer of the data buffer circuit is combined with an elastic-damping physical buffer to further reduce the influence of vibration on CD playback.
Hi-Fi Audio Circuit
The audio decoding chip is the heart of a digital music player. DISCDREAM 2 uses Cirrus Logic's flagship 32-bit Master HIFI audio DAC chip to convert the digital disc into pure high-quality analog output signals.
Headphone Output
DISCDREAM 2 features a 3.5mm stereo headphone output, providing 2Vrms/124mW undistorted output power when connected to a 32ohm load. It can drive most in-ear headphones/earbuds and many full-size headphones that are easy to drive.
*In accordance with clause 6.4 of the AES17 standard. the maximum output, prior to 3dB compression, of 1% THD + N or 0, represents the maximum undistorted output power, whichever is reached first. This criterion helps differentiate it from the maximum output power, and it is the genuinely effective output power for users.
3.5mm Multifunction Output
In addition to its powerful single-ended headphone output, DISCDREAM 2 is equipped with a 3.5mm multifunctional interface that includes both digital optical output and analog line-level output. Users can utilize the analog line output of the multifunctional interface to connect active speakers or an external amplifier. The digital optical output can be connected to an external DAC/AMP, speaker system, or other devices, providing even more versatility.
USB DAC Mode
DISCDREAM 2 is not only a portable hi-fi CD player, but also a desktop USB sound card. It can support PCM decoding up to 32Bits/384kHz and DSD256 when used as a USB DAC.
