DPUB9000
A New Benchmark in Premium Picture and Sound Quality
The UB9000 reference-class Ultra HD Blu-ray player uses Panasonic’s unique chroma and HDR processing technologies to reproduce images with cinema-level quality at home. Ultimate picture quality is combined with a structure and components that pursue the highest possible audio quality to bring you a thrilling Hollywood cinema experience – regardless of the type of content. The UB9000 has been awarded a coveted EISA award as the leading 'High-End UHD Blu-Ray Player'.
High Quality Picture
HCX Processor
Panasonic's 4K PRO HDR model Ultra HD Blu-ray Player features an HCX Processor packed with original imaging technologies for stunning picture quality. Panasonic's Hollywood Laboratory has supervised the creation of this processor, focusing on colour precision and brilliant high dynamic range reproduction.
HDR Support
Panasonic Ultra HD Blu-ray Players support multiple HDR formats, such as HDR10, which is the standard format for films. They also support HDR playback of HDR10+ dynamic metadata, the next-generation standard. And they are compatible with the growing Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma formats.
HDR Optimizer
Tone mapping is used to adjust the brightness level of the content. And even HDR images from ordinary HDR10 and TV footage, which do not support special new formats like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, provide optimal playback.
THX Certified
This THX certified player reproduces the finely nuanced colours and rich, detailed images that the film creator intended.
4K High-Precision Chroma Processing
Technologies from Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, the base for Blu-ray Disc Research & Development, are applied to Panasonic‘s unique “4K High Precision Chroma Processing.” 4K image colour signals (4:2:0) are interpolated into 4K (4:4:4) by a multi-tap chroma process, for natural textures and depth.
High Quality Sound
High-Resolution Audio Playback
This model is designed for high-resolution audio reproduction. In addition to the conventional WAV/FLAC/MP3/AAC/WMA/AIFF formats, DSD (5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz/11.2MHz) and ALAC music files can be reproduced. Simply connect to your home audio system to enjoy music sources equivalent to studio master sound quality.
Reduced Vibration and Noise
A newly developed drive base with a 3-dimensional, thick steel plate fixes the optical disc drive to the centre of the 2-layer chassis to reduce vibration and noise during disc rotation. Thick aluminium is used on the front and side panels to raise the rigidity of the chassis and reduce vibration.
Asahi Kasei DAC
High quality components are used throughout, including the latest generation of 768kHz / 32 bit Digital Analogue Converter from renowned Japanese specialists Asahi Kasei. This premium DAC creates a precise, rich sound from the latest high resolution digital signals with an exceptional signal to noise ratio.
AC/DC Conversion Circuit for Clear Sound with Minimal Noise
The main power supply, which provides power to the optical drive and video signal processing circuits, generates a variety of low- to high-frequency noises. These occur, for example, when driving the motor during disc playback, accessing memory, and communicating between peripheral circuits. By separating the power for the audio D/A converter and analogue output circuit at their origin, the noise effects are reduced. In addition, soft switching control lowers the noise of the power supply itself.
Stable Voltage and Current Supply for Sound with Minimal Distortion
The digital and analogue power supplies for the D/A converter are isolated. The analogue channel is further separated into 2 channels and 7.1 channels, and for the 2-channel output, the reference voltage of the left and right channels is isolated, making a 10-line regulator circuit and reducing mutual effects to improve distortion. Moreover, high-quality audio grade electrolytic capacitors are used in the analogue channel to minimize noise.
Carefully Selected Circuit Board for High Quality Analogue Output
The analogue circuits for 2 channel and 7.1 channel output are mounted onto special glass-epoxy circuit boards. Together with the use of quality components, such as low-noise operational amplifiers and audio grade electrolytic capacitors, a totally balanced signal transmission is achieved by using differential circuits all the way from the D/A converter output to the XLR output terminal.
Versatile Audio Output Terminals
With the UB9000, there is a wealth of choice when it comes to audiovisual hook-up options. The 2-channel and 7.1-channel output terminals are separated for customized listening – from music to blockbuster movies. Advanced audio lovers will appreciate the balanced XLR output terminal in addition to the RCA terminal for the 2-channel output. HDMI for 4K/2K audio and video, optical and coaxial terminals round out the host of possibilities for perfect home entertainment.
Reference Design
Functional and Stylish
Not only attractive to look at, the thick aluminium on the front and side panels of the UB9000 raises the rigidity of the chassis to reduce vibration.
This is complemented by a newly developed drive base: a thick steel plate fixes the disk drive to the centre of the 2-layer chassis to optimize the disc during reading. Unwanted vibration and noise is reduced, while precision is increased. Additionally, heavy steel plates lower the centre of gravity and thus minimize vibration.
The Disc mechanism is centre mounted to increase stability.
Easy on the Eyes
The front OLED display can be set to automatically dim or can be manually adjusted from a dedicated button on the remote control to create the ideal home cinema environment.
