A Slim, Elegant Profile

The new R2 brings one of our longest-established models right up to date, while retaining key features that made our original R2 a popular music system since its launch in 2007. The most obvious change in MK4 from its predecessors is its slimmer footprint. Such elegant new proportions allow R2 to be placed almost anywhere in the home and make it perfect for a windowsill or bookcase.

The appearance of R2 is simple yet stunning. The enclosure, with precise lines and soft contours, combines with the hand crafted slatted wood grille to create a timeless retro-modern feel. Along with its bonded glass display and our trademark RotoDial controller, R2 is undoubtedly a Ruark design and the quality remains clear.

The Complete System

A complete music system, R2 is equipped with FM and internet radio tuners with pre-sets; directly supports major streaming services including Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer; and with its quality Bluetooth receiver can play from every other streaming service available on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume function on phones and tablets, so volume can be easily raised or reduced as desired.

R2 also features a USB-C charge and playback port, switchable auxiliary line input and headphone output. Remote control is available through the free UNDOK app, or a compact IR remote handset is available as an optional extra, sold separately.

Smart Radio

With such a vast choice of stations, radio is still one of the best ways to enjoy curated music and chat. With its SmartRadio tuner, R2 has been designed to make your enjoyment of this medium the best ever. The FM tuner provides quick access to local and national broadcasts, but with an Internet tuner also included, R2 allows you access to stations and podcasts both local and worldwide. Best of all, when streaming radio via the Internet, there's no need to worry about interference so you can enjoy better quality sound.

The RotoDial controller on the top of R2 allows for easy access to all your favourite stations, with support for saving presets. The OLED display allows you to browse and discover stations by popularity, location, and genre. Stations can also be accessed via the UNDOK app for Apple and Android smartphones.

Whatever your taste in music or talk, with R2 you will quickly find stations new and old you will love, and if you live abroad you can stay in touch by still enjoying your favourite programming from home.

Stream On

With an Internet connection, you’ll have access to an infinite library of music through services such as Spotify and Amazon Music. 

For example, using Spotify Connect, you can simply select R2 as your playback device in the Spotify app, and start listening to anything you please.

Also available for iOS and Android devices is our app called UNDOK, allowing for comprehensive control of R2.

Full of Useful Features

Our new colour graphic display clearly shows time, alarm and programme information and with internet based sources you can choose between text display or station and album artwork by pressing the volume control. The display intensity can also be set as you want it and auto-adjusts to suit ambient light levels. With two comprehensive alarms and a sleep timer, R2 also makes a great bedside companion.
