Part of the pleasure of listening to music is the brilliance of the sound. Listen too long and too loud, though, and you can start to lose the ability to hear details. Concerts and festivals often expose fans to high volumes for long enough that it becomes a risk to their hearing, causing issues like hearing loss or tinnitus. 

Earplugs have always been a way to protect your hearing. But standard foam or rubber versions have a big disadvantage: they give you really awful sound. So we asked, why isn’t there a way to listen safely — and still give people the joy of brilliant live music?

Big, awkward-looking foam or rubber earplugs can draw attention. They also cut out much of the higher frequencies while letting lower frequencies pass through. The result? Muffled, bass-heavy sound. Not with SoundProtex. The patented technology in our elegant two-stage filters ensures brilliant, balanced sound.

To accomplish this, we used both a tuned membrane and a sound dampening mesh. When paired together, these components reduce high and low frequencies in equal measure. You get pure, balanced sound without losing any detail or clarity. Even better, these small, discreet earplugs are practically unnoticeable when you wear them.

Although you need to protect your ears from excessive volumes, it’s still important to have an awareness of what’s happening around you. For instance, to understand what people are saying or hear an alarm. The balanced sound reduction from SoundProtex preserves the clarity of sounds and thus your awareness.

For instance, when we listen to people speaking, our ears rely on higher frequency details to make out the words. Standard earplugs can limit those higher frequencies too much. This can make understanding others difficult. Two-stage SoundProtex filters give you perfectly balanced sound that includes enough high-frequency details for easy conversations.

Sometimes, the thing you want to hear most is silence. When you’re trying to eliminate as much sound as possible, pop in the included full block filters. They’re great when you’re traveling, for instance — or any time you’d like to relax or sleep in a noisy environment. They can even protect your ears from water if you decide to take a swim in the hotel pool.

Ear-friendly materials you can re-use

SoundProtex earplugs are reusable and non-allergenic.

When you wear anything for hours at a time, it’s got to be comfortable and non-allergenic. Your SoundProtex ear tips are made from soft & flexible medical-grade TPE material, which won’t irritate even extremely sensitive skin. Additionally, they’re free of plasticizers and other substances that can cause problems.

The ear tips also come in three different sizes to make sure you can find a great fit. When you’re done using them, just rinse the tips off under running water or wipe them clean with a cloth. Put them away in the included storage pouch, and you’re ready for another session of great, safe sound or peace and quiet with the total block filter.
