Wired Open-Back Planar Magnetic Headphones
Building on the foundation established by the pioneering FT5, the FT15 evolves planar headphone design in its class. It features a groundbreaking 800 nanometer ultra-thin diaphragm and FiiO's first diamond-coating process, capable of reproducing even the finest nuances in music.
A specially optimized, patented magnetic circuit applies force to the diaphragm more evenly and powerfully, reducing vibration-induced distortion. The result is deep and solid bass, refined and easy-to-listen-to mid-to-high frequencies, and an overall warm, natural sound.
At the same time, the FT15 combines high sensitivity and easy drivability with a lightweight construction, delivering not only outstanding sound performance, but also a more comfortable experience during extended listening sessions.

Thin 800nm Diaphragm
The FT15’s diaphragm drops from the previous generation’s 6 microns to a breakthrough 800 nanometers — 86.7% thinner — approaching the physical limits of the material. A thinner diaphragm means better sound across the board:
- Resolution — faster transient response, reproducing even subtle high and ultra-high frequency signals with precision.
- Fidelity — the diaphragm tracks the signal closely, starting and stopping in sync with minimal residual ringing for an exceptionally clean character.
- Comfort — greater compliance and lower distortion produce smooth, refined highs that stay comfortable over long sessions.
Large 101mm driver
The effective vibrating area of a diaphragm directly determines bass energy density and soundstage scale. Equipped with a massive 101 mm full-size driver, the FT15 boasts an effective vibrating area of 6,443.5 mm², an impressive 35% increase over the previous-generation. This large energy reserve gives the FT15 exceptional dynamic impact and remarkable sub-bass extension. When reproducing highly dynamic pieces such as full-scale symphonies, it delivers a wider and more natural horizontal soundstage while effortlessly handling rapid dynamic variations.
Innovative diamond coating
The FT15 uses FiiO’s self-developed, patented multi-layer coating. The voice coil gets a silver-aluminum alloy coating for better conductivity and mechanical performance, while the diaphragm features a full-surface diamond coating — the same ultra-hard, stable material used in high-end loudspeaker tweeters. Applied via vapour deposition, it forms a reinforcing layer that reduces high-frequency breakup, speeds up response, and extends frequency response to 40kHz, while resisting fatigue for consistent long-term performance. A vacuum high-temperature treatment lowers the substrate’s resonance point for deep, powerful bass. (Patent no. ZL2024205488218).
Uniform magnetic field design
Traditional rectangular magnet designs create uneven magnetic field distribution, which can often lead to diaphragm breakup vibration and distortion, compromising the sound. The FT15 features FiiO's specially developed patented uniform magnetic field technology, combining custom-shaped high-strength magnets with precisely optimized magnetic circuit alignment to create a highly uniform magnetic field. By driving the diaphragm evenly and synchronously across its entire surface, the design helps suppress breakup vibration and distortion at the source, faithfully preserving the details of the original sound.
Chip-grade manufacturing
Borrowing a precision process from the semiconductor industry, the voice coil is uniformly formed on the diaphragm via vacuum electroplating, greatly strengthening the bond between conductive layer and substrate. The structure stays firmly bonded through prolonged vibration — bringing the likelihood of vibration-induced coil damage close to zero for consistent, stable sound over time.
Easier to drive
A dual-sided heterogeneous magnet array, optimized by finite element analysis, keeps the voice coil in the strongest part of the field for ample driving force. At 95dB/mW, the FT15 is more easily driven by portable players and DACs, for full, solid sound wherever you listen.
Lightweight design
Careful optimization of materials, structure, and magnetic circuit brings the FT15 to just 425g — over 50g lighter than comparable planar headphones.
- Carbon-fiber headband — low weight, high rigidity, resists twisting and deformation.
- Modified-plastic magnet bracket — matches aluminum’s rigidity at two-thirds the density (33.33% lighter).
- Optimized magnetic circuit — the dual-sided design cuts magnet weight 35.53% while maintaining ample driving force
North American Walnut
The central frame of the FT15's ear cups is crafted from North American FAS-grade black walnut — the same wood used in luxury car interiors, fine furniture, and premium instruments. FAS (Firsts and Seconds) is a high-level grading standard used in the North American hardwood industry and identifies timber that has passed rigorous quality controls. Each pair is finished and polished to preserve the natural grain, making it as much a collectible as a headphone.
Cable
FT15 includes a 6N OCC single-crystal copper cable (99.99998% pure) with no grain boundaries, low resistance, and high conductivity. Each conductor undergoes 100+ hours of -192°C cryogenic treatment, releasing internal stress and optimizing its microstructure for ideal signal transmission.
Two adapters included
The FT15 features a 4.4mm balanced cable that is simple to replace and easy to use. Two adapters are also included, providing more options for connecting, upgrading, and enjoying:
- 4.4mm to 6.35mm adapter
- 4.4mm to 4-pin XLR adapter
Two sets of pads included
- Protein leather: enhance high-frequency resolution and vocal clarity, making them particularly suitable for classical instrumental music and female vocal tracks.
- Suede: extremely durable, enhance the bass, and add warmth to vocals while providing a smooth and non-fatiguing treble response, making them ideal for pop music and vocal-focused tracks.
Storage case
The custom storage bag included features Yaoli linen, which is both comfortable thanks to its soft texture and subtly luxurious thanks to its soft luster. It is tightly woven, wear-resistant, and minimizes pilling.
