SL-1210MKX
Professional Direct Drive DJ Turntable
Upgraded for the pros.
Enhanced feedback suppression. Extended pitch range. Hi-Fi grade sound.
SL-1210MKX is the next chapter in the long and influential history of the Technics SL-1200 Series. The 'X' stands for Extreme and Expert — reflecting both its demanding operating environment and the people for whom it has been created
It was developed with direct input from working DJs and sound engineers through rigorous testing in real-world venues. The learnings gained from these sessions have resulted in a turntable with exceptional feedback resistance in loud environments, dynamic expressive performance, and remarkably high-quality sound derived from decades of Hi-Fi expertise.
The SL-1210 MKX addresses the challenges DJs face in high pressure performance settings where powerful sound systems, deep bass, structural vibration and extended operating periods place exceptional demands on equipment. Designed to support creative freedom, this turntable helps DJs and audio lovers transform their musical vision into unforgettable experiences.

Feedback Resistance
Insulators
Newly designed isolation feet have been engineered to combine effective feedback isolation with the stability required for confident scratching and performance use. The rubber shape has been changed to a Flat Rubber Design, while the rubber material is now a Hybrid Rubber Construction. As a result, the SL-1210MKX has maintained Technics' signature feel while enhancing feedback suppression.
Cast Weight
A significantly heavier, balanced chassis provides greater resistance to external vibration. Making use of the design freedom that only casting affords, the SL-1210MKX's 11.9kg weight (including dust cover) and lower centre of gravity further minimise vibrations for class-leading feedback suppression. The result is a turntable designed to remain stable in bass-heavy environments without compromising the direct, controlled feel that scratch and performance DJs require.
Precision Control, Pure Sound
Extended Pitch Range
In addition to the standard ±8%/±16% controls, the SL-1210MKX pitch control gains a ±4% range and a ±50% range for the first time in the history of the SL-1200 Series. The narrower ±4% range provides DJs finer resolution and more precise adjustment, supporting accurate beatmatching and subtle tempo correction when tracks have closely matched BPM values. The new ±50% range greatly extends the available tempo variation, opening new possibilities for creative mixing, turntablism and advanced performance techniques. Additionally, the pitch range does not loop between ±4% and ±50%, helping prevent unintended changes.
Leveraging Our Hi-Fi Audio Heritage
Built on expertise gained through Hi-Fi product development, the system was refined through extensive listening tests, with meticulous tuning of its electronic components, mechanical design, and firmware.
Coreless Direct Drive Motor for Stable Rotation
The direct drive system uses a slow-turning motor to directly drive the platter, offering high performance, accuracy, and powerful torque without needing part replacements. Also gone is the "cogging" effect associated with earlier models.
Engineered Precision
Tonearm
The polished silver tonearm underlines the model’s premium character while paying tribute to the iconic SL-1200MK2. It features a static-balance, S-shape design and high-precision bearings for accurate groove tracking and minimal stylus jumping during scratching. A support component has been added to the tonearm to prevent looseness at the headshell connection. For this support component, using a curved shape for the pipe connector part and a flat shape for the screw connector enhances holding force.
Reset Button
The SL-1210MKX features a push-type reset button, a quieter design inspired by earlier SL-1200 models. The half-press function expands the range of creative expression.
Stylus Illuminator
Anti-glare processing on parts that light up means that the tip of the stylus remains visible, making sure users can focus solely on the music.
PHONO grounding terminal
The larger terminal makes the earth wire easier to tighten. This helps maintain a stable grounded connection when travelling between event venues, where the cable may be frequently connected and disconnected.
Platter
An aluminium cast platter, rib-reinforced underneath, combines with deadening rubber in a two-layer structure to suppress unwanted resonance.
Two-Layer Cabinet
The glass-fibre-reinforced, highly rigid plastic used in the two-layer cabinet curbs vibrations.
Flexible Customization
Adjust Your Experience
You can customize the LED colour, reverse/78 rpm play on/off settings, and brake and torque adjustment (four levels each) to suit your play style. Guide labels for each setting are attached above and below the platter.
Playback Options
The SL-1210MKX also enables reverse and 78 rpm play, broadening DJ playing styles.
Strobe Lighting
Lighting can be switched between two colours: red and blue.
Torque and Brake Speed
Our latest digital motor control technology, developed from Blu-ray disc products, lets you adjust the torque and brake speed separately in four steps for precise control.
