Samsung’s proprietary Micro RGB Technology arranges thousands of individually-controlled red, green and blue micro RGB LEDs — each less than 100 micrometres in size — in an ultra-fine pattern behind the panel. These microscopic lights enable ultra-wide spectrum colour with pinpoint accuracy.

Smart processing engine.

To harness this backlighting breakthrough, computational power is needed. R85H features Samsung's streamlined Micro RGB AI Engine, with a neural processing unit that's fast enough and smart enough to enhance every scene. By using Artificial Intelligence to precisely control the backlighting system, Samsung Micro RGB is capable of achieving 100% coverage of the BT2020 Wide Colour Gamut for a breathtakingly lifelike viewing experience, previously unprecedented in consumer televisions.

Classic Design with Art Store.

Despite all the new technology within this huge screen size, R85H features a classic design that's just 2.3 inches thick. It can be mounted on your wall, or sit on the included feet. R85H also features the Samsung Art Store, allowing you to display works from the world’s leading artists and museums including The Met, Tate, MoMA, Musée d’Orsay, and more with a subscription.

Distances range derived from The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). They recommend the screen occupies a minimum of 30° of your field of view for a good, comfortable viewing experience, and 40° of your field of vision for a more immersive cinematic experience.
